Announcing Moroccandude.com
I just started a new blog around a topic close to my heart: Moroccan artifacts, Moroccan lanterns, lamps, home furnishing and home decor. The blog is called Moroccan Dude and I believe it will be a hit because there's some kind of shortage in informational websites about this subject.
I started it and I will be spending a lot of time working on it every week so it can take off and start to get some traffic from the search engines.
Please go ahead and check it out and let me know what you think!

Freelance Writing Guide - Part 2: Finding Freelance writing gigs
Here is the second part to my series about how to start your freelance writing career online. in this part, I will talk about where and how to find your first Real Freelancing job:
First of all, you have to be very organized and give everyone you interact with a good impression, the important thing here is to look professional.
in order to start attracting some clients, you have to start with Freelance exchange websites or freelance marketplaces, the websites you should start with are the following:
Guru.com
getafreelancer.com
rentacoder.com
odesk.com
Elance.com
All these websites differ from one another, some are free to join and others charge a monthly fee, but the ones that are free to join charge you on a project basis, when you get paid for a project, they take their cut, it usually varies between 3% and 10%. Most of them offer the option of upgrading to the "Gold" type of membership which will allow you to bid on higher paying projects. The kinds of projects that don't cost $5, but at least $100 each. You might find that small investment very worthwhile.
Before joining any website you should browse around and see how much each freelancer gets paid for their work. You will be shocked if you see someone gladly accepting $1 for a 500 word article, that is very common in those websites.. but you have to know that such low fees only yield very low quality articles.
Anyways, After deciding on which websites to join, go ahead and create a killer profile on each one of them. Your profile is a very important tool, most clients will judge you by how attractive your profile is, add great articles to it and showcase your talents because that is how you will get jobs on such websites.
Then what you have to do is to keep looking for jobs that you CAN do and excel at them, don't bid on projects you will not deliver or will have a hard time finishing. When you bid, you should try to be in the first three bidders because those are the ones that get noticed more often than the others.
and finally, when you land your first job, (which will happen within a week or less) you should communicate very well with your client,
- send as many messages thanking him/her for accepting your bid.
- ask them questions about how they want their articles written and get all the details from them.
- Always Over deliver, you have to give a good impression by doing anything possible, write more words for example.
- Follow up with them and ask them about what they think of your work.
That's all for today, hope you enjoyed this second part of the series, please let me know what you think of this information.

Office 2007 Blogging Services
I was just about to use my new office 2007 software, which is very fancy looking and I found out that one can blog right from word to their blog. That is very amazing. I will not have to log in to blogger.com to do it anymore because seems very convenient.

Freelance Writing Guide - Part 1: Getting Started
This is the first part of a series of posts called Freelance Writing Guide, in which I Will give detailed information on how to work as a freelance writer from home.
If you can write at a basic 6th grade level, then you probably can make a living online.
I myself work as a freelance writer and I'm also about to create my own writing agency, especially dedicated for web writing and copywriting on the internet.
First off, the one you thing you should know is that writing is simple, but not easy. What I mean by that is the process of writing is simple, but doing it full time (aka the whole time) is not that easy, things can get pretty boring sometimes and if you're not motivated enough, you will think of doing something else.
Freelance writing is really can be interesting if you write about your topics of interest, such technology, computers and laptops for me, I never get bored when I write about these topics.
The first thing you should think about is to set rates, how much are you going to charge if you want to get a good start. I started with setting not too low rates and I managed to get some jobs, but after a while I started increasing my rates little by little. But the question here is are you going to charge by the page, or by word, or by article, no matter how long it is?
It all comes down to you, are you going to afford getting paid by the page or by word?
I would say that most people get paid by the hour, and some others get paid by words.
I myself charge by articles and it's been working for me ever since I started.
Before you go ahead and set your rates, browse around freelance exchange websites and you will find out how much people charge and see if it's working out for them with their current rates.
Some people might ask for very very low rates because they live in developing countries and $1 per 500 word article is really good for them, but if you live in the US or Europe, then such rates wouldn't be nearly enough. Again, do you research and see how people set their rates.
Good luck researching, and watch out for the second part of this guide.
Why did I say John Chow Sucks?
Ok, this is the second part to my post about John Chow and why I really think he sucks.
first of all, I should let you know that I am a blogger who seeks valuable information and I often pay for this kind of information that will benefit me and my earnings later on. And recently I have been reading a lot of blogs that teach their readers how to make money blogging with some tips. And since the internet is full of free information. I decided to stop paying for information due to the quality I found on many blogs I frequent these days.
Regarding John Chow, I admit that he is one of the most successful bloggers on the internet, and that his blog is a must read. But due to his consecutive successes, he started focusing more on "Review ME" posts for internet marketing products, and posts that are full of sponsored links. in other words, he became more focused on making money from every single post, which makes his blog less and less attractive.
I hope you understand my point of view here, I am simply saying, the more successful blogs don't provide quality posts with real information on the main topic of their blogs, but pretty much focus on BRAGGING about how successful they are.
One tip: look for younger, newer blogs that offer the real stuff.
that is My two cents
